Alexey Petrovich Maresyev visited the Besovets airport in 1967

 

In 1967 Alexey Petrovich Maresyev visited the pilots of the 641st Guard Fighter Air Regiment at the Besovets airport. Maresyev was a famous Soviet fighter ace during World War II. He shot down 11 German planes during World War II. The pilots of the 641st regiment demonstrated him their MiG-17 ‘Fresco’ fighter type.
