515th regiment MiG-21bis in color

MiG-21bis Fishbed-Ls in full color.

MiG-21bis Fishbed-L flew at the Hungarian Tököl airport from 1981. At that time two Soviet regiments switched type. The Baltic Military District’s 899th Fighter Bomber Air Regiment sent MiG-21bis Fishbed-L to Tököl, the 515th Fighter Air Regiment sent MiG-21SMT Fishbed-K to Lielvarde.

The 515th Regiment used the MiG-21bis tactical fighters till 1988. The regiment received MiG-29s in 1987-1988.
