Krasnodar open day of 1983



The Krasnodar airport organized in several open days in the early eighties where visitors and foreign guests could watch the school's regiment training techniques. On the open day of 1983 camouflage MiG-21bis fighter and Su-22M reconnaissance-bomber types were displayed with their weapons as well as silver MiG-25RB and MiG-21M aircraft.

Among the visitors the MiG-25 type sparked the most interest. The then secret aircraft type also amazed the layman with it's size.

The presented Su-22M fighter-bomber sparked interest with the amount of suspended weaponry.

Visitors attending the open day could also watch the flying academy museum where An-14 and UIL-28 types were displayed. Also displayed were the Su-20 fighter-bombers, which the retraining were already completed in 1983.
